Privacy policy

This privacy policy describes how One Great Match Administrator handles personal data collected through the website and app of One Great Match.

What data we may collect

  • Contact details submitted by the user: name and email.
  • The reason for requesting access to the One Great Match app.
  • Account, match, training, player, and tournament information entered or linked in the app.

Purposes

  • Manage requests to join the invitation programme.
  • Contact users interested in trying the product.
  • Assess invitation requests based on the reasons provided.

Legal basis

The main intended legal basis is the user's consent when submitting the interest form and, where applicable, the application of pre-contractual measures at the data subject's request.

AI Coach processing

AI Coach is optional and is activated only after the user expressly agrees to AI processing. It uses OpenAI to generate requested plans, question recommendations, and post-match reviews.

  • A request may contain relevant match facts, player answers, preparation notes, coaching observations, plans, and profile information. Older qualitative notes are included only when the user separately opts in.
  • One Great Match disables Responses API application-state storage. Under OpenAI’s default API controls, inputs and outputs may still be retained in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days unless stricter retention controls have been approved and enabled. One Great Match stores generated plans, reviews, model-run metadata, and the evolving coaching profile in the user account.
  • A user-supplied OpenAI API key is encrypted at rest and sent only from the One Great Match server to OpenAI. The user may instead use the platform configuration when available.
  • AI output may be incomplete or inaccurate and is not medical, mental-health, nutrition, or professional coaching advice.
  • The user can deactivate AI Coach without deleting its data, or permanently delete AI Coach data and the stored provider key from Settings, including after early access ends.

Retention

Data will be retained while there is a legitimate interest in managing the invitation request and maintaining related communication, or until the user requests deletion.

Deleting your account

Your One Great Match account is shared with One Great Tournament. Deleting it affects both products. Account settings offer deletion now or scheduling in 14 days. Scheduling suspends ordinary access; signing in only opens deletion management and does not cancel the request. You can cancel before the deadline or choose deletion now. Erasure may take time to finish across active systems and processors. Shared workspaces may pass to an eligible collaborator; deleting your account does not delete other independent users. Independently sourced public sports records are assessed separately: contact privacy@onegreatmatch.com to request their correction or erasure, or help with an inaccessible account, without signing in.

Restricted local database backups are kept for seven days and off-site backups for thirty days under our configured schedule. Erasure is replayed before restored services reopen. A restricted deletion marker covers the verified maximum backup retention period plus a seven-day safety margin after erasure completes; longer recorded coverage is preserved to prevent restoration of erased data. Processor copies follow their disclosed retention periods. Where law requires retention or blocking, only the necessary records are restricted for the applicable period; they are not available for ordinary product use. Contact us if you cannot access your account or want to exercise your rights without signing in.

Recipients

Data may be processed in operational tools needed to run the website and app, including first-party systems configured by the controller. When a user explicitly invokes AI Coach, the task-relevant data described above is sent to OpenAI as a processor. Audience and product measurement is handled through a self-hosted first-party analytics setup operated for One Great Match rather than through a separate third-party analytics service. For signed-in use, that setup stores the internal account identifier and existing profile display name so authorized administrators can understand product adoption and investigate account-specific activity.

Cookies and similar technologies

This website is designed to avoid non-essential cookies. It currently uses the following browser-side storage and external resources:

  • No analytics, advertising, or behavioural tracking cookies are intentionally deployed on the public website.
  • The site may use first-party, self-hosted audience measurement, configured without analytics cookies and with browser Do Not Track respected, to understand visits and key invitation interactions.
  • If the user actively switches language, the site stores that preference in localStorage so the chosen language can be remembered on later visits.
  • If the user changes the visual theme, the site stores the functional ogm.theme cookie for up to one year so that choice can be remembered.
  • The site avoids loading the invitation form until interaction; the first-party enrollment endpoint is contacted only when the user submits the request.

External services and international transfers

The website no longer depends on Google-hosted fonts for page rendering. Audience measurement uses a self-hosted setup exposed through first-party paths. If AI Coach is activated and invoked, OpenAI may process task-relevant data outside the European Economic Area under the safeguards applicable to that provider relationship. If the invitation form is submitted, the browser connects to One Great Match first-party endpoints to deliver the request.

Rights

Users may request access, rectification, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability by writing to privacy@onegreatmatch.com. They may also lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority if they believe the processing does not comply with applicable law.

Updates

This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the product, operations, or applicable legal obligations.

Users who want to exclude their own visits from audience measurement can open the browser console on this site and run localStorage.setItem("umami.disabled", "1"). To re-enable measurement later, they can run localStorage.removeItem("umami.disabled").
